What we didn’t expect as Gwyneth took to the stage was a frank and honest dialogue about her surprise when divorce and separation became part of her family story.

I really liked that she shared the backdrop to her immediate generation which was that there was no previous family trait for relationship breakdown as she had experienced it. And that staying together for good was a value held in her ancestory.

We have changed our view of marriage and whether to stay together. There’s more freedom of movement if the relationship is causing harm to either to both as a result of continuing.

What are your family values?

Can you stand by them even if the present circumstances look different?

I think that by trying to keep an atmosphere of peace and goodwill with the father of her children, Gwyneth is moving on well without disregarding what was GOOD about her past.
